Child Mental Health & Wellbeing
Good mental health and wellbeing is essential for school children. It helps them to learn effectively, cope with day-to-day challenges, and develop into resilient young adults.
Here at Ellis Guilford, we understand the importance of how it can impact a child's life, learning and enjoyment. We aim to promote positive thinking and resilience by teaching strategies for positive mental health and wellbeing, including the ability to ask for help as well as accept support from others.
If you are feeling worried, or are concerned about another child, please email safe@ellisguilfordschool.org.uk
If you are concerned for yourself or if you believe a young person is in immediate danger, please ring 999, or take the young person to A&E.
Help in School
Do you need to talk to someone or tell someone something that you are worried or concerned about?
There are numerous ways that you can report safeguarding concerns:
Speak to any member of staff in school. It is important that you do this as soon as possible if there is serious risk of harm.
Speak with Safeguarding staff on duty at break-times in pink high-viz jackets
Access The Student Voice platform (click image to enlarge).
The Student Voice gives you a platform to share information about how safe you feel within school and in the local area and the ability to anonymously report concerns that will be actioned and responded to appropriately by our Safeguarding and Pastoral Teams.
The Student Voice is only monitored during school hours.
In an emergency, please contact any of the following:
Notts Police (101 Non-urgent: 999 urgent), CityMash@nottinghamcity.gov.uk,
NSPCC 0808 805000, CAMHS Crisis Team 08081963779, or Kooth.com
