Homework
Homework is an extremely important part of ensuring children achieve academic excellence at the Ellis Guilford School.
How much Homework will I have?
Homework is set every week, from every subject.
Year 7, 8 and 9 children will be set one piece of homework per week, per subject.
Year 10 and 11 children will be set two pieces of homework per week, per subject.
How do I find out what Homework has been set and whether it has ben completed?
All homework is uploaded to Arbor. Parents and children will be able to log in to check what has been set, what is due, and the Guilford Gold received for homework completion.
Children receive 10 Guilford Gold for each piece homework completed. If children do not complete their homework, teachers will issue a ‘C2 No Homework’ and Guilford Gold will be deducted from their overall balance.
If children or parents/carers are having difficulty accessing Arbor, please contact: enquiries@ellisguilfordschool.org.uk
Online Platforms: Seneca, Sparx & Teams
Whilst some homework is paper-based, most homework is set using our online platforms – Seneca, Sparx Maths, Sparx Reader and MS Teams.
All pupils have access to Sparx and Seneca and are expected to complete all quizzes set by their teachers as part of their weekly homework.
To access the online platforms at home, pupils should log on to the EGS Student Portal using their school computer username and password, where they can access the online platforms from the 'Tiles' in the student shared area.
If children require further support in accessing these platforms at home, please refer to the Help Guides at the bottom of this page.
