  ^{Note: Parents/Carers have a right to request to withdraw their child from} Personal Development and Religious Education. Personal Development and Religious Education are distinct areas of the curriculum at Ellis Guilford School and are provided for all children. As part of the Personal Development curriculum, children receive education relating to relationships, sex, health and wellbeing. Parents and carers have the right to request that their child is withdrawn from sex education. Requests for withdrawal should be made in writing to the school or by email to enquiries@ellisguilfordschool.org.uk. The right to withdraw from sex education applies until three terms before the child reaches the age of 16. From this point, if a pupil wishes to receive sex education rather than remain withdrawn, the school will make arrangements for them to receive this education during one of the three terms before they turn 16. Parents and carers do not have the right to withdraw their child from relationships or health education, or from any content that forms part of the statutory science curriculum.
