Academic Outcomes at Ellis Guilford School

At Ellis Guilford School, we are committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential. Our outcomes reflect the ambition, determination and hard work of our children and staff, and demonstrate the progress children make throughout their time with us.

We are proud of the achievements of our children and the opportunities they go on to access after leaving school. Alongside academic success, we place great importance on personal development, enrichment and preparing children for their next steps in education, training and employment.

GCSE Results Summary – 2025

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 children for their hard work, resilience and commitment throughout the 2024–25 school year. Their determination has been reflected in a strong set of GCSE results, with many children achieving personal bests and moving confidently on to the next stage of their education.

This year, the government has not published Progress 8 scores nationally, as children did not sit KS2 SATs during the Covid‑19 period. Instead, schools are measured using Attainment 8 and other attainment‑based indicators.

Our Attainment 8 score for 2025 is 37.1, which reflects the progress our children have made across their subjects. We continue to see particular strengths in Languages, and Science, and many children achieved excellent outcomes in English, Maths and Sport Science.

For further explanation of the results, please click on the link below for Key Stage 4 Results.
Attainment 8 Score 37.1
% of children entered for the English Baccalaureate 18.4%
English Baccalaureate average point score 3.01
% of children who achieved grade 5 or above in English & maths (strong pass) 27.7%
% of children who achieved grade 4 or above in English & maths (standard pass) 47.6%

We are also pleased that 87% of our children (based on the most recent provisional published data) went on to further education, training or employment, showing the ambition and drive of our young people.

The government encourages families to look at a range of information when considering school performance, including Ofsted reports, school websites and direct conversations with the school. Exam results are only one part of the picture, and we remain committed to supporting every child to achieve their very best.
