MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Countdown to Easter
The final week of term is here. A reminder that children should attend every day this week including Friday. School finishes on Friday 4 April at the normal time.
Children who attend every day this week will receive 100 Guilford Gold on Fabulous Friday. And, for those children who attend every day this term, they will be invited to join our EGScellent Easter Adventure on the last day and will also receive an Easter Egg Reward! A new set of Attendance Rewards will be announced next term, starting from the first day back on Tuesday 22 April.
Year 11 Half-Term Easter EGStravaganza
We will be writing to Year 11 parents and carers this week regarding our half-term revision sessions with daily Easter raffles, free lunches (Domino’s pizza, Kebab Van, Fish & Chips and Ice-Cream Van) and fun sessions (Escape Room and Inflatables).
At the end of the two weeks, there will be an attendance draw to win vouchers and an iPad! Keep an eye on your inbox for further details.
A Truly EGScellent Show!
An extremely well done to all the cast and those behind the scenes for putting on a superb production of Grease last week. The children had 7 performances altogether last week including 3 evening shows and 4 matinees where they performed to local primary schools. It was really truly amazing from the sets to the wonderful 50s dresses and outfits, from the acting to the singing and, of course, the dancing! Photos from the show can be found on our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. We can’t wait to see what the Performing Arts Team come up with next year! Being involved in our school production is a great opportunity for our children to grow and develop and realise their potential.
Ellis Electives – New Timetable
After the Easter break, there are some changes to the Ellis Electives timetable. Our new Electives include:
- Year 8 to 10 Girls’ Fitness (Mondays)
- Dance Academy (Tuesdays)
- Tennis (Tuesdays)
- Year 7 Girls’ Multi-Sports (Tuesdays)
- Outdoor Cricket (Thursdays)
- Year 8 to 10 Boys’ Fitness (Fridays)
Registration for Term 5 Electives
Please register your child for Ellis Electives in the Arbor Parent App (find Clubs in the Activities section). Some of this term’s Electives continue next term, however you will still need to register your child again as some Electives are only set up on a term by term basis.

Support during the Easter Break
For the majority of pupils, the school holidays are a time to relax and take time off from studying. However, for some, the school holidays can mean a period of difficulty for many reasons. Please refer to the image above which contains important information regarding emergency and support services, including numbers to call and online resources. Click the links below for more supportive resources for both students and parents, including links to urgent support in a crisis.
SAFEGUARDING
Bullying
This week our children will be reminded about identifying and reporting bullying. Everyone has a responsibility to stop and prevent bullying occurring in school. We expect the highest standards of behaviour from our children and have clear and robust anti-bullying procedures and policies.
Please talk to your child about bullying and check-in with them about reporting it – if they are a victim of bullying or if they witness it happening.

CURRENT REWARDS

Year 11 have their own rewards including the chance to win an iPad and to attend the Year 11 Prom.

Pre-Owned Uniform Shop
A reminder that we have our pre-owned uniform shop available to purchase current uniform for Years 8 to 11 at low cost.
Please do pop in to our pre-loved uniform shop during its opening times , or ask at Main Reception if these times are not suitable.
25 Guilford Gold will be rewarded for any donations being dropped off at Reception.
