MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Grease is the Word!
We wish the whole cast of Grease all the very best this week! We look forward to welcoming local primary schools to performances during the day and the rest of the Ellis Guilford community on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening.
There is still time to buy tickets to the event, which I have no doubt will be fantastic! Bring your family and friends.

Red Nose Day
Thank you for supporting our efforts to raise money for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day.
We raised £220 by wearing red and buying cakes.

Year 11 – the Journey to Success
A huge thank you to all parents/carers for supporting our Year 11 children through their PPE exams! We know this can be an incredibly stressful time for our children but they put all of their efforts into studying and bringing their best for their exams in preparation for their final exams starting on 6 May. Year 9 – Making Choices for the Future
Year 9 pupils will make their final options choices next week. They have all been given guidance on how to log in to Unifrog to explore careers, future choices and pathways. Please encourage your child to access the tool, and explore it with them to support their choices. A guide on how to log in to Unifrog can be found here: How-to-log-in-to-Unifrog.pdf
As part of this process, our Year 9 children had interactions with Djanogly Sixth Form, Nottingham College, Bilborough College & Sixth Form and Hucknall, Holgate & National Sixth Form last week to support their future pathways. The children were excited, enthusiastic and curious during these sessions and were a credit to themselves and the school!
Countdown to Easter
There are just two weeks left now until the end of term on Friday 4 April. Children who attend every day this week will each receive a flapjack on Fabulous Friday. Next week, there are 100 Guilford Gold on offer for children who attend every day! Finally, for children who attend every day this term, they will be invited to join our EGScellent Easter Adventure on the last day and will also receive an Easter Egg Reward! A new set of Attendance Rewards will be announced next term, starting from the first day back on Tuesday 22 April.
SAFEGUARDING
Sexism and Sexist Language
Sexism and sexist language do not align with the Ellis Guilford value of ‘equality’.
We have very robust procedures for dealing with any form of harmful sexual behaviour – including sexual harassment and sexism.
We encourage our children to report any form of sexism, and we are committed to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
This week, our children will be trained in recognising sexism and the harm it causes. They will explore sexism, sexist language and how normalising these behaviours provides the foundation for sexual harassment and violence.
Please support our children by challenging sexism and sexual stereotypes at home and in the community, by promoting equality and diversity, and supporting or encouraging all children to call out sexism and report it if it presents in school.
CURRENT REWARDS

Year 11 have their own rewards including the chance to win an iPad and to attend the Year 11 Prom.

Pre-Owned Uniform Shop
A reminder that we have our pre-owned uniform shop available to purchase current uniform for Years 8 to 11 at low cost.
Please do pop in to our pre-loved uniform shop during its opening times , or ask at Main Reception if these times are not suitable.
25 Guilford Gold will be rewarded for any donations being dropped off at Reception.
