MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Positive News
Last week, we welcomed all Principals and Head Teachers from across our Creative Education Trust schools. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the fantastic work that is going on in our school.
Our Junior Leadership Team provided tours of the school, and we had some tremendous feedback on the super work going on. EGSellent work, Team EGS!
Cold & Wet Weather Clothing
Please look out for a letter that will be sent out later today. It details the cold weather clothing that is appropriate and permitted in school.
Any clothing which covers the face, is not permitted.
What’s next for Year 11?
Year 11 Pre-Public Examinations come to a close this week, and teachers will begin to mark these before the Year 11 Parents’ Evening on 18 December—the most important parents’ evening to date. Your attendance is expected in order to support your child to achieve their very best in the upcoming final examinations.
An invitation to book your appointments for Parents’ Evening will be sent at a later date.
SAFEGUARDING
Educating our children about Cannabis
This week, we will be delivering safeguarding training to our children about the dangers, risks and health concerns linked to cannabis use.
Research suggests that cannabis is being seen more in a variety of forms. One particular concern is the sale of cannabis or THC disposable vapes, or cannabis liquid for use in refillable vapes. Both are illegal and the strength of the dose taken can vary hugely.
It is important that you talk about the dangers of drug use to your children.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
This week all pupils who attend a full week will receive a 50 Guilford Gold on Fabulous Friday. Next week, students who attend every day will receive a delicious doughnut on Fabulous Friday. Click on the images below to view the attendance rewards which run all throughout the term.
