Gemma Johnson – Assistant Principal

I have been teaching for ten years. Before I joined Ellis Guilford School, I was a Lead Practitioner for a multi-academy trust in Nottinghamshire, working intensively with the geography curriculum across a range of schools and also improving the quality of teaching and learning. I also held whole school roles relating to the quality of teaching, academic transition and Early Careers Development. I led two large faculties as Director of Science and Humanities, resulting in much improved outcomes.

I am an Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning at Ellis Guilford School. My role will involve improving teaching and learning, and ultimately outcomes, across the school. This will include continuing to develop highly challenging learning environments. I will also be monitoring and continuing to strengthen Continuing Professional Development, remote learning and working closely alongside the Humanities faculty to improve outcomes in geography.
