Chris Keen – Principal

I am delighted have been appointed the new Principal of Ellis Guilford School.

I have taught for over 30 years, many of which were as a teacher of English, prior to taking up leadership roles in 3 different schools.

Claudio Gissendorf – Associate Principal

In 2008, I joined Caister Academy (formerly Caister High School) as Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. In 2012, I was promoted to Head of Modern Foreign Languages. In 2015, I joined the Future Leaders’ programme and was promoted, initially for one year, to Associate Vice Principal.

Fiona Aris – Senior Vice Principal

I joined Ellis Guilford as Senior Vice Principal in September 2020. I have been a Headteacher of a large City Primary School that was recognised in the Parliamentary review, as one of the most improved in the West Midlands. I am a very experienced Senior leader with a proven track record of raising outcomes in primary and seconds schools. I have successfully supported a number of schools in my career to date to move from very low start points (inadequate) to become good.

David Fugill – Vice Principal

I started teaching in 2007 as a Teach First participant in Science. I have worked in four other schools across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire as well as working across all schools in the Nova Education Trust as the Science Subject Director. Previously I have worked as Head of Year and Progress Leader at Arnold Hill Academy securing significant improvements in GCSE results in 2014.

Louise Kirkham – Assistant Principal

I joined Ellis Guilford School in May 2000 and have been at the school ever since. I am currently the Assistant Principal and the schools SENDCO.

My current SLT responsibility is the SENDCO. I also lead the Primary Transition, Parental Engagement and am currently the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. Other duties are the EHCP lead and the Child Looked After lead at the school.

John Williams – Assistant Principal

I joined Ellis Guilford School in September 2000 as a Teaching Assistant working with students with special educational needs.   In January 2001, I began training to be a teacher on the Graduate Teacher Training Programme with my placement at Ellis Guilford School.  I qualified the same year as a teacher of ICT and RE. I have spent the whole of my teaching career at Ellis Guilford School and am very proud of this.

Joanne Chambers – Assistant Principal

I have whole school responsibility for Attendance, Rewards and Pupil Premium. I began my teaching career in 2002 and have worked at 4 Secondary schools across the East Midlands in a variety of pastoral and achievement roles.  I strongly believe that high quality education is for all children and that working together we can achieve the best for our pupils.

Chris Brooke – Assistant Principal

I started teaching in January 2010 as a PE Teacher and I have been at Ellis Guilford School ever since. I have held a few positions during my time at the school, Head of Year, Head of House (Centurion) and now my current role as Assistant Principal.

Gemma Johnson – Assistant Principal

I have been teaching for ten years. Before I joined Ellis Guilford School, I was a Lead Practitioner for a multi-academy trust in Nottinghamshire, working intensively with the geography curriculum across a range of schools and also improving the quality of teaching and learning. I also held whole school roles relating to the quality of teaching, academic transition and Early Careers Development.

I joined Ellis Guilford School in September 2020 as a Regional HR Manager, and since then I have taken on the responsibility of Director of HR & Operations and the school.
