An 11% increase in students achieving a Grade 5 or higher in English and Maths compared with 2023.
Students at Ellis Guilford School, part of Creative Education Trust, are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results today.
Students were particularly successful in Languages, Science and Religious Studies; areas of strength for the school. In addition, outcomes in Sport, Maths and English improved significantly, with high proportions of students demonstrating a real breadth of talent. Overall, the number of children achieving a grade 4+ or 5+ in English and Maths is close to the school’s highest outcomes on record.
There were numerous brilliant success stories and achievements to celebrate, including: Harry Chan who achieved seven grade 9s and one grade 8, Ned Ryan who achieved four grade 8s, and Kelci Binch who achieved two grade 9s, three grade 8s and three grade 7s.
Staff went above and beyond to ensure that students were as prepared as possible for their first formal exams, which they sat in May and June. Additional revision sessions were provided for all children before, during and after school, including weekends, all very well attended by our Year 11s.
Gemma Johnson, Principal at Ellis Guilford School said:
“A huge congratulations to our Year 11s! You have worked tirelessly to achieve these results; not just this academic year but in all of those before it. We are so incredibly proud of you!
A special thank you must go to all our staff here at Ellis Guilford School for their dedication to supporting every child to fulfil their potential. Additionally, to our parents and carers for all of their support along the way; both of their children and of our school.”
